Good point Claire. Although interestingly this IS an English site (or British!!!).
Seriously though, I'm curious. Experienced copywriters: does this copy really outperform traditionally well crafted sales copy? My gut tells me it's just all smoke and mirrors but perhaps I'm wrong?

I think it's a cultural thing, because i'm getting lots of interesting links to blogs via twitter, and although the articles are all good, the surrounding adverts and graphics on the American websites are - too my English eyes, very brash and far too many colours and words, - all "shouting" at me, whereas the english sites have the as good content, but don't assail my senses from all directions - making them easier and more calming to read. - the extra ads on the american sites havn't made me want to buy anything, - but then I am english, so not their target market.
