I need your help! We’re currently creating a new logo design for Sara Jane chocolates and have come up with three initial options. The great news is that Sara loves them all and can’t decide which one to progress.
You’ll find our initial mockups below. They’re not finished, polished designs but initial ideas. We would LOVE your feedback. So please vote for your favourite below and give us your thoughts!
The Brief
To create a brand identity for a chocolatier making gorgeous, memorable chocolates using only the best ingredients. Sara’s top three keywords for her brand were: gorgeous, artisan and luxurious.
Option One
Earthy, luxurious and organic. Personally I love this one.
And here are how it might work in practice…
Option Two
A truly gorgeous font: feminine, romantic and the colours keep it earthy.
And here’s the logo in context – I love that rose pattern on the reverse!
Option Three
Slightly whimsical, I think this one could look fabulous on packaging.
And here it is in context.
So you’ve seen what we’ve done… Which do you prefer and why?

Beautiful, elegant, tasteful
I could print a few bags for you if you like??
I like the middle one: The brilliant white letters on a deep purple background. My eyes were immediately drawn towards those two colours because they are bold yet sophisticated and elegant.
Hi,
Definitely think option 1 is the best. The others are well done but a bit too fussy and girlie.
I like the modern twist of the first option which I also think would be suitable for a wider customer base – I wouldn’t buy either of the other 2 for a man or for anyone who wasn’t very girlie.
Hope that helps. good luck!
I am liking #3…although they do all look good. Sophisticated yet simple and gorgeous.
Definitely Choose Option 2 – There’s something about the bold name font with the swirly & naughty ‘Chocolate’ below that makes me think “clean fingers, chocolatey fingers”, and the rose pattern headed paper takes me back to the little shop in ‘Chocolat’. For some reason the swirls in the font almost make the C, O’s and A look like little chocolates within the name. (Maybe it’s just me?)
Option 1: Too Fairtrade / Body Shop.
Option 3: Nice, but less emphasis on the ‘Chocolate’ and too much on ‘Sarah Jane’.
By the way, don’t forget to call when it comes to the product photoshoot!
Wishing you sticky fingers and lots of luck,
Antony.

Hmm – ref the initial logo I agree with your choice Fiona “Earthy, luxurious and organic” – it looks much better when displayed on the reddish background.
Bit confused as to which “options” we’re supposed to be considering? When it comes to the business card graphics and in relation to the fonts, I think this depends on her market-place. I really like your 3rd option & graphic. However, which is more important to stand out/catch the eye – “Sarah Jane” the brand as in your 3rd one, or “Chocolates” the product as in your second?
Overall, the last graphic, Option 3 in context appeals to me the most
Enjoy the samples…
They are all lovely, but my preference is for no. 1 as I think it is more distinctive and not quite so girly!
They are all wonderful, I can see how it is very difficult to choose.
It’s between no’s 1 and 3 for me.
I love number one, the colours, the font, the box. However, I get more of a sense of ‘Chocolate’ from number three.
Katie
I’ll go for the third option to – it’s the one I’d pick off the shelf when buying my wife some chocolates. And that’s what really matters right?
Hi Fiona
Definitely Option 3.
I like the look and feel of Option 1 but I’m not sure about the relevance of the twig?
I prefer Option 3 as the text is in chocolate colour, which immediately makes you think about chocolate. However the graphic/swirly image reminds me of the Cadbury’s Twirl brand …but as that’s also chocolate, I’m not sure whether that’s a good or bad thing!?
Hope that helps?
Rona
Gosh I love them all, but my favourite is option 2, it’s gorgeous and chocolately!
Tracy
I love option one, the colours are lovely and very eye catching, you just know those chocolates are going to be heaven!! I also agree with one of the comments in that the logo would appeal to a wider customer base. Wishing you all the luck in the world xx
Option 3 for me.
Like Rona it reminds me of swirls of chocolate, and it just feels rich and yummy, which I just don’t get from the other two.
Not much help are we? You seem to have had votes for all 3 – still it shows how good you are as always!
Nicky
Thank you soooo much for all your comments. We do have a clear winner. No 1 with 71% of the vote! Second was No 3 with 29% of the vote…
I’ll get in touch with Sara on Monday and we’ll be sure to let you know the outcome!
I really like Option I but I would just cross reference with the branding for Divine chocolate which is a lot busier but gives a similar feel.
Thank you for all your comments on this. They’ve been really valuable. Chloe has refined the logo and the stationery so keep your eyes peeled for a blog on the finished article early next week.
