Hello England! It’s good to be back…

Things have been a little sparse on the blog and twitter front for the last few weeks, but I’m back now, and if you give me just a couple of days to get over the jet-lag I’ll be raring to go again!

I’ve just returned from the most inspiring, fun and relaxing holiday with my family in California. To be honest, I didn’t want to come home. We had an absolute ball.

We “road-tripped” from Orange County up to Napa via wineries and a very tasty ranch on the way up. Driving home we stopped off at San Francisco, down the beautiful highway 1 to Santa Cruz (not my favourite place) on to Monterey and back to LA and the glamorous Anaheim Hills. The weather was glorious and the children loved it. We spent time with family we don’t see enough of, explored new places and I even managed to sneak in a bit of time to win a new client (more on that later…).

From a designer’s perspective there was so much inspiration all around, from the scenery to the shops to the brands themselves, and I’ll be blogging my inspirations over the next few days. And whilst I dragged myself on that flight wishing that we could have stayed another few weeks, it really is good to be back.

We arrived home and the garden, which was looking pretty uninspiring when we left was literally flourishing. My daffs, narcissi, grape hyacinths and bluebells are in full flower, the blackcurrant is shooting and the raspberries are up. The veg patch is looking a little less promising, but we did manage to harvest some purple sprouting brocolli for dinner the night we got home and I have high hopes for the fruit trees this year.

And having “enjoyed” a very slow start to the year thanks to the snow and general “economic climate” the business is bursting with new projects, new clients and new possibilities. I’m looking forward to sharing with you some of the things we’ve done over the past couple of weeks, and some of the projects for the future. It really is good to be back.
