Watercolour Study

By Ian Merricks, 14th Mar 2012

Here is my first of many watercolour studies that we will be showcasing through the blog. We wanted to explore the effects watercolour can give us creatively, looking at shapes, colours and textures that we can take inspiration from.

You’ll notice two very different shades of pomegranates which I deliberately painted to develop a colour palette from, and has really helped the team in choosing the correct palette for our client.

It’s been a few years since I dabbled in watercolour (so please be kind!) but I hope you enjoy my new found passion for this medium!

Wow Ian, brilliant stuff!! Looking forward to seeing more… the Pomegranate colour palette that Fiona has been blogging on recently is right up my street – very appealing indeed, and so naturally I love the colours you’ve been using here too! Denise
